Renewed! Goodbye, Lakers! A center at the level of the NBA Finals.

The Lakers wanted Adams, and the Rockets quickly secured a three-year, $39 million contract extension with him;

the Lakers aimed for Gafford, and the Mavericks swiftly reached a three-year, approximately $54 million extension with him.

The details of Gafford's new contract are as follows:

$17.25 million for the 26-27 season; $18.13 million for the 27-28 season; $18.99 million for the 28-29 season.

It is worth mentioning that the contract includes a 5% trade guarantee clause, currently amounting to $2.719 million.

The 26-year-old Gafford stands 2.08 meters tall with a wingspan of 2.19 meters, averaging 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game last season, with a shooting percentage of 70.2% and an effective field goal percentage of 71.6%, ranking second in the league, just behind Allen's 72.4%. He is an excellent blue-collar center who significantly helped the Mavericks reach the Finals last year.

In summary, missing out on Gafford is indeed a great loss for the Lakers. If they could have had such an exceptional center, they might not have faced a first-round exit against the Timberwolves in this year's playoffs.

Doncic: Good buddy, since we can't fight alongside each other on the Lakers again, I hope we can meet at the peak of the Slovenian national team.

With Adams and Gafford both locked down, there are very few centers left for the Lakers to choose from in the player market; it seems that only Claxton from the Nets remains.

Previously, some reporters speculated that the Lakers might package Hachimura, Knecht, Kleber, and a protected first-round pick in 2031 to acquire Claxton from the Nets.

If Claxton cannot be secured, then the 37-year-old Lopez and 31-year-old Capela might become new options, as both have entered free agency and can be signed directly.

It seems that acquiring a capable center is proving to be more challenging for the Lakers than bringing in Doncic? This also highlights how scarce quality big men are in today's league, making them prized possessions for every team; they are either unwilling to trade or demand exorbitant prices.

If all else fails, the Lakers should trade up for a draft pick and grab Yang Hanshen. Manual dog head!
