Which guards and wings should the Lakers trade? A team reporter lists 10 names, with Holiday at the top and Wiggins second.

On June 20, Beijing time, the well-known Lakers reporter Jovan Buha answered fans' questions on a podcast. As is widely known, the Lakers' primary summer goal is to acquire a center. However, besides players for that position, which guards or wings should they consider trading? A fan raised this question, and Buha provided an answer, listing the ten most realistic target names in his preferred order.

Let's take a look at the list, which is as follows: 1. Jrue Holiday, 2. Andrew Wiggins, 3. Michael Porter Jr., 4. Keegan Murray, 5. Mathurin, 6. Derrick Jones Jr., 7. Agbaji, 8. Royce O'Neale, 9. Thybulle, 10. Pope .

Buha mentioned that Holiday, Wiggins, Porter Jr., Derrick Jones Jr., Royce O'Neale, and Pope are players who might be traded due to their contracts, whether because of the amount, duration, age, or performance last season.

“The Celtics, where Holiday plays, must make some tough decisions, but I expect they won't give the Lakers any favors. Wiggins has a few years left on his contract, so Miami might just want to cut some salary to gain more flexibility for the summer of 2026. Porter Jr. also has years left on his deal, and Derrick Jones Jr. has multiple seasons on his contract. The Clippers will have some financial decisions to make regarding Harden. Royce O'Neale might be traded because the Suns want to change direction. I expect Pope to be traded from the Grizzlies after a down season.”

“Some of these players will soon become restricted free agents in 2026, including Keegan Murray, Mathurin, and Agbaji. They have different skill sets and positional types, but I believe all of them could help the Lakers. Thybulle's contract is expiring, which is a trickier issue. If you could somehow trade for him using Kleber plus something else, I would love that. I would even consider trading Vincent for him because I think the Lakers need more height, defense, and athleticism. Ideally, if you could include Kleber and some assets to get him, that would make sense.”

“However, the two-way capability of Holiday and Wiggins, especially defensively, would be a significant boost. With Holiday, I think you’d want a bigger player than him, but he remains an excellent defender even at 34. You have to seriously consider this potential trade, putting him alongside Doncic and Austin in the starting lineup; I think he would be very helpful. Wiggins is arguably the best two-way wing available in reality. Porter Jr. has many defensive issues, but I think his shooting and offensive abilities are noteworthy.”
