According to a report by ESPN reporter Charania on the 1st, the 21-year-old Schifino, who was previously cut by the NBA Jazz, will sign a two-way contract with the 76ers.

Schifino

Schifino was drafted by the Lakers with the 17th pick in the first round in the 2023 draft, but his career got off to a slow start, suffering from a knee injury at the start of the season, averaging 1.6 points per game in just 21 games last season, and undergoing back surgery last March. Schifino has played just two games this season and has been unable to play since November with a hamstring injury, while he has only played one game in the G League this season.

The Lakers threw a shock bomb before the trade deadline, sending Davis to the Mavericks in exchange for Doncic, and as part of the deal, Schifino was sent to the Jazz with the 2025 Clippers and Mavericks second-round picks, but within days of coming to the Jazz, Schifino was cut.

The 76ers originally had two gaps left on the two-way contract roster, with only Dowding among them, but the 76ers have signed Roddy and Reese to fill those two gaps in the past week. The 76ers are reportedly going to cut Roddy in order to free up a two-way roster spot for Schifino.
