1. National Grading Standard for 5000-meter Running (Track and Field Events)

In the technical level standards for Chinese track and field athletes, the 5,000m is a middle-distance running event, which is only for professional track and field athletes, and has nothing to do with ball sports such as baseball. The latest standards (2021 edition) are as follows:

Men's 5000m



Women's 5000m

Note: The above standards are applicable to track and field athletes, who must meet the standards in competitions recognized by sports administrative departments at or above the provincial level.





2. Baseball player skill grade standards

Chinese baseball players are classified into international athletes, national athletes, level 1, level 2 and level 3, and the evaluation is mainly based on competition results, rather than physical fitness tests (such as 5000 meters). The latest standards are as follows:



1. Tier 1 athletes

Contest Requirements:

Top 8 in the National Games, National Championships and National Championships;

Top 3 in the National Youth Championships;

Members of the national team participating in the Asian or World Youth Championships.



2. Level 2 athletes

Contest Requirements:

Top 8 in the National Youth Championships;

The top 3 in the comprehensive games or championships sponsored by the provincial (autonomous region, municipal) sports administrative department;

Top 3 in the National Secondary School Championship.



3. Level 3 athletes

Contest Requirements:

Top 3 in youth competitions at or above the municipal level;

Top 6 in competitions sponsored by school sports associations at or above the provincial level.





3. Baseball player physical fitness test reference

While the technical level does not assess physical fitness, the following tests may be included in the selection or training for a professional team:

Speed: 30m/60m sprint (Tier 1 athlete reference: 30m≤4.0 seconds);

Throwing: Passing speed between bases (excellent ≥ 120 km/h);

Agility: 6×6m switchback run (≤12 seconds is excellent);

Strength: Bench press/squat (assessed according to body weight proportion).
