Quan Hongchan and other Chinese winners of the Paris Olympics have old-age security funds, and netizens have mixed reviews about it

The 130 Chinese athletes who won medals at the Paris Olympics, including Quan Hongchan, will receive pension security under the "Outstanding Athletes Lifetime Protection Public Welfare Project", that is, they can receive a pension of up to 6,000 yuan per month after reaching the age of 60 until the end of their lives. According to reports by China's Sina Finance and other newspapers, the "Outstanding Athlete Lifetime Protection Public Welfare Project" is co-sponsored by the National Sports Foundation of China, China Pacific Insurance Group, Anta Group and China Sports Industry Group.

It is reported that CPIC Insurance aims to provide long-term pension security for Chinese Olympic medal athletes and ensure that athletes enjoy a stable quality of life after retirement. According to the regulations, medalists at the Paris Olympics can receive pensions after reaching the age of 60, of which gold medalists can receive 6,000 yuan per month, silver medalists 5,000 yuan, and bronze medalists can receive 4,000 yuan until the end of their lives.

At the policy issuance ceremony held on the 17th, 20 athletes from the Chinese national diving team, swimming team, synchronized swimming team, badminton team and gymnastics team were invited to attend, including diving stars Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi, swimmer Sun Jiajun, synchronized swimmer Feng Yu, badminton women's doubles player Jia Yifan, and gymnast Zou Jingyuan.

Many Chinese netizens expressed their support for this, arguing that athletes deserve pension security because they have worked hard to bring glory to the country, and even suffered from injuries and illnesses. However, some netizens questioned the pension age being too high, believing that athletes' careers are short, and if they retire early or retire due to injury, they need more funds to ensure their lives.
