The NBA Spurs announced on the 21st that the "French monster" Wembanyama was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder and will be reimbursed in advance this season.
"French Monster" Wembanyama
Wembanyama, the top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and last season's NBA Rookie of the Year, has averaged 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.8 blocks in 46 games for the Spurs this season, and is thought to even have a chance to compete for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.
Wembanyama, who was just happy to participate in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, is now rumored to be injured, and the Spurs mentioned that Wembanyama returned to San Antonio, Texas after participating in the All-Star Game, and was subsequently diagnosed with a blood clot.
The Spurs are already preparing for the worst, and Wembanyama is expected to miss the rest of the season.
