The Lakers played the Hornets at home today, ushering in the first game after the All-Star break, and before the game, head coach Redick revealed that after the All-Star week break, Doncic is not expected to set a time limit today. In fact, before being traded to the Lakers, Doncic missed about six weeks due to injury, and the last time he played for the Mavericks was the week of Christmas.
Doncic played two games after joining the Lakers, both against the Jazz, playing 24 and 23 minutes respectively, and the Lakers won 1-1 in both games, and Doncic added up to only 30 points, far below the season average of 27 points.
Redick said during his first practice session after the Lakers' All-Star break that Doncic is okay and thinks it's a good thing for him to have five or six days off, "He's going to play more minutes today, and I don't think I'm going to put another time limit on him." Reddick said.
The Lakers have a dense schedule recently, after playing the Hornets at home today, they will play the Trail Blazers on the road tomorrow, and then the Nuggets on the 23rd, and three of the last four days will be played in three different cities.
