China's men's doubles former world No. 1 and Paris Olympic silver medallists "Liang Wang Pair" Leung Wai Keng and Wang Chang temporarily dismantled the Swiss Badminton Super 300 Tournament held in Basel from March 18 to 23.

The Chinese badminton team has decided to partner Leung Wai Keng with Huang Di, who has performed well in the Asian Badminton Mixed Team Championships recently, while Wang Chang will partner Liu Yi in the 2025 Swiss Badminton Super 300 Tournament.
Since winning the 2024 Denmark Badminton Super 750 in October last year, the Liang duo have not been able to maintain their usual high level of performance, and they have failed to advance to the semi-finals in the subsequent matches, losing to the same opponents - South Korea's new powerhouses Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho in the second round of the Malaysia Badminton Super 1000 and India Badminton 750 in January. In addition, the Liang duo also failed to qualify for the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, their home stadium last December.
According to domestic media reports, insiders revealed that the coaching staff of the Chinese badminton team made the decision to partner with the Liang Wang combination in the Swiss Badminton Super 300 Tournament in the hope that they would bring newcomers to increase their experience in small competitions, and at the same time adjust their status.
The duo will continue to compete in the Orleans Badminton Super 300 and the All England Badminton Super 1000 from 11 to 16 March, with the aim of getting back to their best. In the following competitions, such as the Asian Badminton Championships and the Sudirman Cup, the Liang Wang duo will still play together.
The most typical example is the mixed doubles "IELTS pair" Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in the Paris Olympic cycle, after a brief separation and recombination, the two achieved the longest winning streak in the history of badminton and won gold at the Paris Olympics.
The Chinese team is not the first team to adjust the top combination in the new Olympic cycle, and the South Korean team is constantly experimenting with different combinations. 2023 Men's Doubles World Champions Seo Seung Jae and Kang Min Hyuk have also been pairing up since the end of last year, and now Seo Seung Jae has partnered with Kim Won-ho and Jin-ryong respectively. The 27-year-old and Jinlong teamed up to win last year's China Badminton Super 750 and this year's Thailand Badminton Super 300 tournament, while Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho also won this year's Malaysia Badminton Super 1000 tournament. In addition, Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho also finished second in the Indian Badminton 750 tournament, where they lost to Malaysian liberos Goh Shi Fei and Noi Zu Ting in the final.
