According to a report from ESPN on the 24th, Khris Middleton, the small forward traded to the Wizards by the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks mid-season, will take up his player option worth $33.3 million for the 2025-26 season, ensuring his stay with the Wizards.
Middleton
Middleton was a key player in the Bucks' championship win in 2021, but over the past three seasons, he has struggled with injuries, playing only 33 games in the 2022-23 season and 55 games last season. In the 2024-25 season, he played 23 games for the Bucks, averaging 12.6 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.7 rebounds.
Before the trade deadline this year, the Bucks executed a trade, sending Middleton, AJ Johnson, and a draft swap to the Wizards in exchange for forward Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr., and compensation in the form of a second-round draft pick.
After joining the Wizards, Middleton played 14 games, averaging 11.9 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.7 rebounds. He has been selected to the NBA All-Star Game three times in his career and has played 13 seasons in the NBA, spending 11 years with the Bucks. Over his career, he has played a total of 776 games, averaging 16.6 points, 4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.
