South Korea's signature figure skating men's singles skater Cha Jun-hwan won the gold medal at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games. So far, South Korea's figure skating has won the men's and women's singles championship at the Asian Winter Games after the women's single skating Kim Chae-yeon, which is the first time in the team's history.

South Korea have previously won gold medals in women's singles at the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo (Choi Da-bing), bronze medals in ice dance at the 1999 Asian Winter Games in Gangwon Province (Yang Tae-hwa/Lee Qian-jun), and bronze medals in women's singles at the 2011 Astana-Almaty Asian Winter Games (Kwak Min-jung). Although Cha Junhuan is not as famous as Kagiyama Yuma, he is also a world-class player who has emerged in recent years. He won silver in the men's singles at the 2023 World Figure Skating Championships, a former Four Continents champion and a bronze medal at the recently concluded 2025 Winter Universiade in Turin.
