South Korean rising star Lee Chao-eun finished his final warm-up as the sixth place in the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games qualifiers. On the 12th, Li Chaoen scored 43.75 points in the snowboard men's halfpipe preliminary round held at Yabuli Ski Resort, ranking 6th out of 12 players.

The 2023 World Championships snowboard men's halfpipe champion Li Chaoen will aim for a double title at this Asian Winter Games after winning the men's slopestyle final on the 8th. If Lee also dominates the men's halfpipe final, he will become the second Korean snowboard double champion in snowboard history, following Lee Sang-ho, who won gold in the men's parallel giant G and parallel slalom at the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo.

In the day's qualifiers, another South Korean player, Kim Kun-hee, finished first with 78 points from the first round. In the men's halfpipe qualifiers, the highest score in the two skating performances will be the result of the competitor. In the finals on the 13th, there will be three rounds of competition, and the highest score of each player will be ranked.

In the 10-player women's halfpipe qualifiers, South Korea's Lee Na-yoon was 7th (62.25 points), Choi Seo-woo was 8th (45.25 points) and Heo Young-hyun was 9th (38.25 points).

Normally at international snowboard halfpipe competitions, some of the finalists will be selected after the qualifiers, and this event was originally set to have eight finalists. However, since there are only 12 male and 10 female players in the competition, no one will be eliminated from the qualifiers, and all the players will participate in the final on the 13th.
