Relevant people of the DPRK delegation visited the figure skating venue of the Asian Winter Games and did not respond to an interview with a South Korean reporter

"Go away, because it's busy." Officials of the North Korean delegation to the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games were sensitive to questions from South Korean journalists. On the 6th, Beijing time, Kim Hyun-sun, coach of the North Korean figure skating team, and relevant people from the North Korean Olympic Committee came to the comprehensive hall of the Heilongjiang Provincial Ice Training Center, where the short track speed skating and figure skating competitions of the Harbin Asian Winter Games were held.

Under the guidance of relevant people from the organizing committee of the competition, when the Korean reporters approached, they frowned. When a man from the North Korean Olympic Committee was asked how he felt before the competition, he said in an honorific language: "Go away." And then he said, "Because it's busy." Coach Kim Hyun-sun and another person from the North Korean Olympic Committee did not respond.

At this Asian Winter Games, North Korea sent only a three-person delegation of figure skating pairs Lion Daeok/Han Kim Chol and a men's single skater. The DPRK delegation headed by Kim Il-guk, chairman of the DPRK Olympic Committee and minister of sports, departed from Pyongyang on 5 May and arrived in Harbin on the same day. I didn't see any players that day.

Yeom Dae-ok, who won a bronze medal in the pairs event with Kim Joo-sik at the 2017 Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, is North Korea's signature figure skating athlete, and the two also competed together at PyeongChang 2018.

North Korean coach Kim Hyun-sun is a player who has led the North Korean team many times in international competitions such as the Sapporo Asian Winter Games and the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. South Korean media reported on the 6th that "Coach Kim Hyun-sun showed a friendly attitude towards South Korean journalists at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics." But Coach Kim didn't say anything that day, as if he was representing the rigid relationship between the two Koreas. North Korea also showed hostility to South Korean journalists at the 2022 Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou, to be held in 2023. ”
